Obituary of Lucille M Banks

Lucille Banks, beloved daughter of the late John Stewart and Catherine Hammond,

was born on June 25

th

1955 in Camden, New Jersey. She quietly answered the

Lords call on January 12, 2018. Lucille leaves to cherish her Loving husband Willie

E Banks, Precious daughter Stacey L. Roberts and son Kenneth D Roberts who

preceded her in death on October 12, 2008.

She is also survived by her siblings Robert Shelton (Lisa), Kathleen Hammond,

James Stewart, Bernadette Green, and Edith Johnson. She was preceded in death

by two sisters, Barbara Smith and Francis Bey, three brothers John Stewart, David

Stewart, and Samuel Stewart.

She received her formal education through the Camden City Public School System.

She completed her Business Certification from Harris School of Business. During

the Mid 1970’s, Lucille started her career at City Hall as an Administrative Clerk.

Lucille work for the United Postal Service from 1984 until her retirement in 2009.

She was an advocate for the Children of New Jersey, where she fostered

numerous kids.

Lucille accepted the Lord Jesus Christ on October 7

th

2001 at Living Faith Christian

Center. In 2016 she moved her membership to Victory in Christ Christian Center

under the leadership of Bishop John Edmondson. She loved the Lord and grew in

His purpose for her life. She was a strong determined Christian who desired to do

things God’s way. She served him until the Lord called her to rest.

She can be described as witty, serious and yet sensitive at times. Lucille had such

a beautiful smile. Her smile along with her infectious and unique laughter

charmed the hearts & souls of many. Lucille possessed a tremendous love for life.

She took a great pride in knowing her origins and finding New Family Members.

This was very important to her.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memory, husband Willie E Banks and daughter Stacey

L Roberts. Grand Children Diamond J Roberts, Amir Y Roberts, Kenizha M Roberts,

and Kenne’ S Roberts –Alford, Step Daughter Talina Johnson, God-Daughter

LaSheda Evans and God-Son Kenny. Also survived by her Aunt Mary, Aunt Hattie,

Uncle Harry, and Uncle Samuel Stewart. Cousins, nieces and nephews and a host

of Family and Friends. She was loved by many and she will be missed but God’s

love said enter your rest my child.
