Please share a memory of Mona to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mona Ray Mckeown was born on October 22, 1964 to Sylvia Mckeown and the late Arthur Mckeown. She was affectionately known as Mona or Mo Mo. She attended school in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Mona accepted Christ as her Lord and savior as a young child. Mona loved and enjoyed living in Elizabeth, New Jersey but later moved to South Jersey where she married David Hoggs. She later separated from her husband but they remained good friends. She enrolled and completed Harris School of Business and received a Certificate in the Medical Field. Everyone who knew Mona knew that she was a very caring person. She was known as the neighborhood mother and played a big part in so many lives. Mona didn ’t take no nonsense and wasn ’t afraid to tell you what was on her mind. She was an advocate for having fun and famous for telling stories of her childhood memories that she had with her two older siblings. It was no secret that Mona loved her family and her coffee but she would move mountains for her younger brother Dan, whom she considered her son and her daughter Tahanee aka T -Mac. The bond she had with Tahanee was more than a mother and daughter relationship. They were best friends. She never stopped praying for her daughter and family. Through all the trials and tribulations she endured, she kept fighting and remained persistent in prayer. Mona departed this life on Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was proceeded in death by her father, Arthur Mckeown; her first born, Tahanee Mckeown (The First) and her sister, Sylvia Sessoms. Mona leaves to behind to cherish her fond memories her mother Sylvia Mckeown; daughter, Tahanee; three sisters, Wanda Harris (Dwayne), Deborah Mckeown and Malika Thomas; three brothers, Arthur Mckeown (Madeline), Omar Thomas (Angela) and Daniel Mckeown (Katrina); god child, Danielle; her loving special friend, Lenard and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
