I moved abroad in early 2020, and Renee checked on me periodically. She sent me messages about how brave I was to move to a new country, begin a new job, and essentially start over. She was a remarkable human being. We were lucky to have her.

As neighbors, Renee and I would see each other early morning before she went to work. I was always pulling weeds and trimming flowers and we would discuss ways to beautify our landscapes. She was always positive and pleasant. Before she got in the car we would praise God for our blessings, tell each other to have a great day and we'd wave good-bye to one another as she pulled out of the driveway. It's simple yet powerful because those 3 to 5 minutes talking to Renee while working on the lawn set the tone for my day. I will miss Renee... her smile, her spirit. I don't know her favorite flower...but I'll plant one in her honor as it will always be a reminder of her presence.
