Alisa Hope O’Bryant Obituary

November 20th,1963 a Star (Alisa Johnson) was born to the late Robert (Sr) and Anna Louise

Johnson. Alisa was the youngest of six. Alisa was affectionately known as “HOPE” and

remembered as “Lady Legs”

.

Hope was born and raised in East Camden,NJ She attended Cramer and Davis middle school.

Hope also attended and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School never to be forgotten.

She was known for her Star Athletic accomplishments. Hope was a basketball star who also ran

the 50/100 yard dash winning also the 440 relay and long jumps becoming known as “Lady

legs”

. She won 200 meters and won the All South Jersey for “81 and 82”

. She was remembered

for all her Gold medals, and record breaking numbers and the #1 on principal Cabinets.

Hope was known for her dancing skills, love for the Whispers,James Brown, and having the

best BBQ’s. Hope and late brother Kieth was known to Host the best Eastside House Parties,

Brother Billy was security, Darrell was the DJ. They all would chase people back to where they

belong. If you didn’t belong in east Camden you had to go after the party. She also commanded

the pole table with her sister Cindy from Homes lounge to Atco. .

She was also known to put the outfits on and lace them All with real Gold and every finger and

had the rings on.

Hope enjoyed taking care of others and ended her career as a CNA at Sterling Manor. Her

health began to fail her. She continued to help and love others until she could not.

On June 11,1982 Hope united with Micheal O’Bryant and renewed their vows on June 11th

2000. From this union came Shaw-Dae, Malik,Malika,and Keith. This union blended gifts of

Michael: Michael Gillespie and Nakier Jones. Hope also raised as her own Shawnelle,DeSean,

and Robert.

Hope and Mike could offer. Be seen dancing and singing together , dressed alike partying all the

time. Laughing and joking until Mike would go so far she get fed up and start cussing and shut it

down. Their joy was spoiling the grandkids, known as “Nana Babies”

. Also they were the couple

known to give out the dollars to the nieces and nephews. Most of all taking care of their children

and keeping them together. Hope was the glue for her family. She enjoyed family vacations until

she was too weak to attend. She was so proud they all went together recently even though she

couldn’t attend. Hope was Baptised at the age of 8 along with all her siblings, she recently

recommitted her life to God making her calling and election sure to enter into the heavenly

Gates of Heaven in August of 2024. Watching service weekly online with El Bethel Community

Church.

Hope is preceded in death by the Late Robert and Anna Johnson. Sister Kim Watkins and

brother Keith Johnson.

Leaving to cherish her memories: Mother In love Margaret O’Bryant , Loving Husband Michael

O’Bryant , Children: Michael(Cheri) Gillespie, Shaw-Dae(Giovanni),Malik(Annzoley),

Malika(Navarro), Shawnelle(Lionell), DeSean,and Robert . Siblings : Robert “Danny”

Johnson(Diane), William “Bill” Johnson (Cheryl), Darrell Johnson(Candy), Cindy Goodman.

Sister In loves: Joan O’Bryant (Leonard), Lydia Brown, Patricia (Dameal) Thomas.

Grandchildren: Kayla,Kayleb,Karter, Gianna,Mason,Makenzi,

Giovanni. God-daughter Sakinah Tillman, Special cousins Cindy Love, and Bonus daughter

Jade Williams.

Host of nieces, nephews ,family and friends.
