Obituary for Kyesha Nicole Jenkins

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kyesha Nicole Jenkins, a loving mother, devoted daughter, sister, and loyal friend, who was called home on July 12, 2025.

Kyesha was born on December 21, 1978, to Dawn Jenkins and Norman Carl Broy. Raised in Camden, New Jersey, Kyesha attended Camden County Vocational & Technical School, where she carried herself with determination and strength from a young age.

Kyesha was a proud and protective single mother who didn’t play when it came to her two daughters—Sa’Kyra Pegues and Olivia Pegues—who were her pride, joy, and greatest blessing. She dedicated her life to them, loving and guiding them with all her heart. Kyesha was known for her bold spirit & ability to speak her truth. She loved her family deeply and wasn’t afraid to let them know exactly how she felt— always honest, always real. Beyond her role as a mother and family rock Kyesha had a passion for fashion— especially sneakers and urban street wear. Her unique sense of style was more than just clothing; it was a reflection of her personality:Confident, unapologetic,& vibrant.

Throughout her life, Kyesha worked many different jobs, always putting in hard work to provide for her family. Her last place of employment was at Barclay’s rehabilitation and health care center, where she gave back to others with kindness and care.

Even in her final moments, Kyesha remained selfless—giving the gift of life by donating her kidneys to save a young girl, a final act of love that defines her legacy.

Kyesha is preceded in death by her mother Dawn Jenkins, father Norman Carl Broy, and her Daughter A’Kosha Denise Mathew’s Jenkins & her adopted parents Michael Anderson and Genice McNiel.

She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Sa’Kyra Pegues and Olivia Pegues; her brothers Jamar Jenkins and Bryheeme Jenkins Sr.; her sisters Ganell Anderson and La’Niece Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever love and miss her.

Kyesha’s love was deep, her heart was big, and her strength was unmatched. She will forever be remembered for her giving spirit, protective nature, and unconditional love.

Rest in peace, Kyesha. You were truly one of a kind.
