Reverend Jacqualine Hill Dillard

Jacqualine Hill Dillard the beloved daughter of the late Walter C. Hill Sr. and Mattie Mae Davis Hill, departed this life on July 29, 2025, in York, Pennsylvania. Jackye was born on March 7, 1951, in Washington, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome H. Dillard, sons Jerome D. Dillard, Michael C. Dillard Sr., and grandson, Jesse Dillard.

Jackye moved with her family from Tignall, GA to Camden, NJ in 1955. She received her education in the Camden School District. During her early years, her zest for learning new things led to her joining the Brownies, Girl Scouts and attending Journalism School. She was an avid reader and talented poet. She passed her love for the arts and learning on to her four sons.

Jackye worked for many years as a dispatcher for the Yellow Cab Company and the Greyhound Bus Service. Her eloquence shined brightest when she worked in retail sales and marketing as she always enjoyed meeting new people and catching up with old friends. She was also the owner and proprietor of a clothing boutique “The Mustard Seed,” a name inspired by her faith.

If you knew her, you knew she loved the Lord and that her faith was her anchor. After relocating to York, PA in the early 2000s, she became a leader in her new community and was soon elected as the Vice President of the Tenant Council. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in York, PA and she often preached, counseled and performed baptisms at the Bible Tabernacle Christian Center in York until she retired.
