Born on May 21, 1961, in Cerro Gordo (San Lorenzo), Puerto Rico, daughter of Pedro and Concepción Dávila. Josefina Orozco was an extraordinary woman whose spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. From her early years, she radiated warmth and joy. With her striking beauty and magnetic personality, she never met a stranger; everyone felt like part of her family in her presence.
Josefina was one of ten siblings, of whom six survive her: her sisters Clara, Evelyn, Rosario (Charo), María (Yvette), and Agriselia (Sely), and her brother José. She shared 25 years of love and devotion with her husband, Wilson Morales, who remained by her side through good times and bad, in sickness and in health, until the day of her passing, Thursday, January 15, 2026.
A loving sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law, Josefina raised seven daughters: Desi, Beatriz, Yolaika, Josefina, Jessica, Jasmin, and Erica. Her heart grew even fuller with thirteen grandchildren — Desiree, Destiny, Brieliz, Chasity, Antonio, Dennis, Owen, Vera, Timothy, Nevaeh, Angelito, Joshua, and Nathaniel — and five great-grandchildren: Davian, Hermione, Carter, Josiah, and Jace. She is also survived by her sons-in-law: James, Adrian, Steven, David, and Jovanni.
Josefina’s home was always open, filled with laughter, love, and delicious food. She had a special gift for caring for others in the simplest yet most profound ways. If she knew someone was sick, she arrived at their door with homemade soup. She delighted in bringing joy through food — her sofrito, pasteles, alcapurrias, flan, and limbers — preparing each dish meticulously, like no other.
Although she had a strong character and, at times, a firm exterior, those who truly knew her understood that beneath it lived a noble, kind, and gentle soul. Even in the midst of pain, she carried on, facing every challenge with courage and determination. She was a true warrior — strong, resilient, and always grateful to God for all that life allowed her to experience.
Our mother always stood firm. She was our rock, our pillar of strength, the unshakable presence we turned to in moments of weakness. She lived a life full of love, sacrifice, laughter, and generosity, leaving an eternal legacy in all of us who had the honor of calling her mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend.
Although Josefina Orozco has departed this world, her love, her warmth, and her extraordinary spirit will live on forever in our hearts.
