Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy’s Story Dorothy Seney has fought the good fight she has finished her course, and has journeyed from labor to reward. Dorothy was born on November 25, 1943. to the late Godford and Sadie Seney in Queen Anne County, Maryland. She was the fifth of fifteen children and was aectionately called Dottie until given the nickname “Pork Chop” later in life. Dorothy was raised in Centerville, Maryland, where she received her education in the Maryland Public School District. She enjoyed growing up with her siblings, but relocated to Camden, New Jersey in the early seventies. Dorothy worked multiple jobs, but her longest tenure was with the Camden City School District as a food service manager. During the summer months Dorothy worked in the city’s recretion program, and after thirty plus years in both positions she retired in 2009. After retirement Dorothy enjoyed her quality time with family, watching her shows, doing crosswords, going to bingo, and putting together many puzzles. She definitely loved shopping and cooking, because on any given day you might receive a call from her saying, I need to go to the store, but CVS first! Dorothy touched the lives of many through the years, and former students who are now adults fondly call her their “OG”. Dorothy will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength, her loving nature, her sense of humor and her willingness to lend a helping hand when needed. Outgoing and full of spirit Dorothy loved the Lord, and lived seventy nine blessed years. To know Dorothy was to love her. The mildness of her temper, the aectionate tone of her voice, and the tenderness of her heart will be with us forever. Dorothy was predeceased in death by her siblings; Edward, Mary, Charles, William, Ella Mae, Frances, Sarah, James, and Michael. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Arnold Jacobs and Richard Thomas Sr; .four grandchildren, Mariah Thomas, Richard Thomas Jr, Kadeem Jacobs (Nadine), Kabree Jacobs; six loving great grandchildren Jayden, Jaylen, Kaliyah, Kahlani, Erza, and Legend; one sister Theresa Brown; one brother Godfotd Seney Jr. (Mary); sister-in-law Sandra Brown; a very dear friend Evelyn McCargo, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many dear friends.
