Obituary of Kevin Morton

Please share a memory of Kevin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kevin Morton was born on May 24, 1958 in Camden, NJ to the late Louise Brown and Alonzo Morton. He was one of 16 children: Edith, Ethel, William, Thornton, Bertha, Candace, Alonzo, Viola, Lorraine, Patricia, Annamae, Yvonne, Francis, Malcolm & Gloria. Kevin was raised in Camden, NJ and schooled in the Camden school system. He worked as a laborer. He was also affectionately known as the “CD/DVD Man”. He spent most of his life with his long time companion the late Kimberly Revels. Kevin was a good man and a natural protector. He was a kind generous man who everybody instantly loved. Kevin was the kind of person who would give a stranger his last dollar if they needed it. He loved spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren. He also loved watching his favorite football team The San Francisco 49ers, lifting weights, listening to music and dancing. He was often seen wearing his 49ers football gear during the week and fashionably dressed in red and/or black on Fridays and Saturdays nights to go dancing. It wasn’t strange to see Kevin on the dance floor dancing alone or with a stranger. Everybody loved seeing him dance. He was also everybody’s favorite dance partner. Kevin was a positive person which probably helped him beat cancer 10 years ago. He was a natural born fighter so it was no surprise 2 years ago when he began battling another type of cancer he wanted to keep fighting. When he was asked, “How are you doing” he replied, “I’m doing okay”. Even though his pain level was at an eight everyday you would’ve never knew it because he was always in good spirits and didn’t complain about his ailments. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandson, Yahmir Catoe. Kevin’s legacy of love will linger on with fond memories as he is cherished in the hearts of his children; Katrina (Brian) Catoe-Huggins, Taneesha (Frank Hedgebeth) Dunlap, Tynisha Revels, Desmond (Victoria) Williams, Yvonne Catoe, Kimesha Revels, Fatima Catoe, Abdur Catoe, Kevin (Shekinah) Revels and Alanna Morton. Grandchildren; Jose Catoe-Mercado, Iran (Sharee) Mercado, Aniyah Smith, Natasia Dunlap, Kyara Cruz, Faleisha Velazquez, Nasir Revels, David Revels, Kayviana Catoe, Fataysia Brown, Antwon Revels, Mariah Catoe, William Barber, Fasir Catoe, Kamya Revels, Charles Middleton, Kayla Revels, Kendall Revels and 16 great grandchildren. Six sisters: Ethel Hayes, Viola (Rufus) Sharp’e, Lorraine Bussie, Patricia Best, Yvonne Kirkpatrick & Gloria Morton. One brother: William (Doris) Griggs. Two brother in-laws: Allen Revels Jr. and Melvin (Marcella) Revels. Two sister in-laws: Patricia (Kenneth) Moye and Jacqueline Revels. Special nephew: Dale Johnson, special son: Abdul Ali, friend: Terry Bembery and a host of relatives and friends.
