Obituary of Isaiah McRae Jr

Please share a memory of Isaiah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Isaiah McRae Jr., lovingly known as “Ikey” was born in Camden, NJ on March 27,1975 to the late Isaiah and Vicki Steene McRae. Isaiah transitioned from this world on June 29, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Camden and was educated in the Camden City Public School system. A proud graduate of Camden High’s class of 1993. Isaiah worked out of Bordentown NJ for the BAC Local 5 for 20 years before medically retiring. Isaiah rededicated his life to Christ in 2022 and became a highly active member of the Second Baptist Church of Paulsboro, NJ in 2023. He was appointed Deacon Pro Temp in 2024. He enjoyed being of service to Christ and others. Isaiah enjoyed laughing and making others smile with his sarcasm and witty comebacks. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved riding his bike. He was also a self-taught photographer . When Ikey had an interest in something he made it a priority to learn everything he could about it. This is how he knew everything. He would diligently study the topic on, you guessed it, “YouTube”. He would even further his research by finding the manuals, as well. This is what made him a perfectionist at his craft. Everyone knew he was never wrong. Ike birthed his logo and photography company “Precious Memories” the one most of you know and love from his ideas & passion for pictures. Isaiah met his wife, Carie, at Cooper B. Hatch Middle School in 1988. They became friends and then began dating 4 years later on March 10, 1992. They were later married on July 10, 2003 in Camden NJ. Isaiah and Carie have been a constant in one another's lives for over 34 years. They share 2 children together Kyree Isaiah Douglas and I’asiah Kennice McRae (HIS MINI ME). Isaiah has always been an honorable father and mentor to his children. When Kyree played little league football, he made it his business to not just be at the games but to become a coach. When I’asiah and Kyree wanted to learn music, he made sure they had the best quality instruments and were enrolled in the best music programs with the best instructors he could find. He is a true example of an excellent father and a good man. He never failed to instill gems of knowledge for his children to reflect upon and appreciate. We will forever be grateful for the time God has allowed us to share with him and the things he has taught us all. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Carie Fussell-McRae of 21 years, his children Kyree Isaiah Douglas and I’asiah Kennice McRae, two sisters Marcia Y. McRae and Lashaje (Michael) Stanley , two aunts Martha McRae and Lovette Cooper-Hawkins. His proclaimed “favorite cousin”- Shawn McRae and a host of family and friends. As we gather here today to celebrate the life of our dear friend and favorite photographer , do not be sad. Think of Ike and remember to always strike a pose and smile for the camera, he would love that. Always rejoice in knowing that the storm is over, for Isaiah is now in the arms of the Almighty God. Hold dear to the amazing “PRECIOUS MEMORIES” he left with you all. Take your rest KING it is well deserved.....we love you
