Obituary of Richard Davis
Richard Lee Davis was born to the late Catherine and Mingo Davis of Pamplico, NC on December 26, 1933. He was the fourth child out of six children. Later at the age of seventeen years young, Richard left the North Carolina area with a $20.00 bus ticket headed for Atlantic City, NJ. After arriving in Atlantic City he replenished his funds that was provided to him by his father Mingo. Once securing his finances he then traveled to Philadelphia, PA. where he briefly lived with his sister Curly. Richard permanently relocated across the water where he settled in Camden, NJ. Richard “REDDS” Davis had many diversified talents and jobs. While in Camden, NJ he worked at the Campbell Soup Plant as a machine operator. Richard was extremely skilled at his position and was quickly promoted to a supervisor position. Richard was preceded in death his father Mingo Davis, mother Catherine Davis, brother Nathaniel, two sisters LilaMae and Ethea and his wife Isalee Davis. He leaves to cherish his memory: six children Brenda, Mingo, Marsha, Tina Tracy and Richie; two sisters Curly and Gracie; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
