Obituary of Latitia Boyd Carley

Latitia Boyd-Carley, age 48 of Mableton, Georgia departed this life on Saturday, October 14, 2017 by an act of domestic violence.  She was born on March 5, 1969 in Camden, New Jersey and was born to her biological father and mother James Blue and Rosetta Boyd. She was the older of two girls raised by her dad Jerome P. Boyd and her mother.  Her sister, January regarded Latitia not only as a loving sister but also as a second mother.   Latitia grew up in Lindenwold, New Jersey where she was involved in various activities such as gymnastics, modeling, and pageants.  Latitia was called “Lady T” because she loved Tina Marie.  Latitia graduated from Overbrook High School and attended several colleges including Camden County College and Delaware State College. Latitia was always a determined person, so she always worked two or three jobs at the same time.  While living in New Jersey, Latitia was employed by the Board of Education, Boscov and J.C. Penney.   Latitia relocated to Georgia in 1996 and worked for various companies including: E-Trade Financial Group as a Financial Service Rep, LMB Investment Group as a Property Manager, Litton Loan Servicing LP as a Loan Counselor, Gifts 4 the Mind, Body and Soul as an Event Coordinator, The Home Depot as a Retail Staff Specialist, StudySoup.com as a Marketing Coordinator and Prudential Insurance Company as a collection agent and a Real Estate Agent.  She also had her own business called “Dog on Good!” making gift baskets, specialty items and home baked doggy snacks.  Latitia was always trying to better herself and took courses at Atlanta Technical College for Human Resource Management and Cobb Microenterprise & Kennesaw State University for an Entrepreneurial Certificate.  At the time of her death Latitia was pursuing her education at Clayton State College for a Bachelor of Science in Integration Studies with a Minor in Marketing and Spanish.  Her campus involvement included: Center for Academic Success Advisory Council, a volunteer for Clayton State University Alumni Association and Certified in Diversity Training from 2016 and 2017 Annual Diversity and Leadership Conference. Latitia attended church at Highpoint Christian Tabernacle in Smyrna, GA under the leadership of Apostle Thomas and CoPastor Carolyn Vinson.  There Latitia accepted the Lord as her personal savior and was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost.  Latitia LOVED the Lord and was a faithful member of Highpoint for fifteen years where she served on the Usher Board with a beautiful smile. 

 

Latitia is survived by her mother, Rosetta Boyd; father, Jerome Boyd (New Jersey); two sisters, January Boyd and Chanel Matthews; one brother, James Blue, Jr., three nieces, Shcera, Ahynia and September Boyd; a spiritual mother, Alice Harris and as host of loving relatives and friends.
