Obituary of Larry Miles
Larry Miles was born in Philadelphia to Lawrence Miles and Jean Wallace; he was the youngest of four on his mother's side and the oldest of six on his father's side. After his mother's passing in 1986, "Mom Jack" helped to watch after him. He attended schools in the Philadelphia school systems: Larry went to Wharton, Michel, Allen Locke and Sulzeerger Jr High. As a young man he joined Job Corp of Philadelphia.
Larry loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had a strong passion for challenging his brothers, Jerome and John, in sports; whether it was basketball, football, or boxing. Larry and his brothers were very close and did everything together. He loved imitating Jerome so much, he would even take Jerome's nick-name "Little Fish", as some would affectionately call him. Larry had a loving relationship with his brothers, and his sister-in-law, Cheryl, John's wife.
Larry had three children Ebony, Keisha and Marcus. He had his daily struggles with life and would lose focus on priorities. Although his heart was in the right place, Larry couldn't get a grasp on reality. Knowing that we all have our own opinions of him, and to who Larry was, we know universally that Larry will not be forgotten. Whether it may be good, bad, ugly, sad or happy, Larry's memory will live on.
Larry is survived by his brothers and sisters; Jerome Juwan (Peanut, deceased), John, Whitney (deceased), Ian, Jamil, Tasha, Knykole and Tristan. Larry leaves behind his beloved children; Ebony, Keisha and Marcus. Larry is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Lesley, Marcelle, Shidee, Ya'minah, Ronald Jr, and Ly'Lyan. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
