Rotha Cornelius Carter was born in Jacksonville Florida to the late Betty Rose Carter and Rotha Cornelius Carter on May 5, 1958. He departed this life on May 6, 2018.

In 1960, Rotha moved to New Jersey with his mother and siblings. He attended Catholic Bach for the deaf in Trenton New Jersey. Later he enrolled in Whittier School.

Rotha enjoyed cooking for his family listening to rap music and watching video girls. He helped raise his nieces and nephews and great nieces. He loved to entertain and talk to any and everyone. He would always let his sister Deborah Ann know everything that went down in her house. He was passionate about drawing because it made him feel at ease and it was often used for a stress relief. He would enjoy watching karate movies but his favorite movie was the Bruce Lee movies. He always spent time with his family and friends. Rotha didn’t drive but made it everywhere he needed to go.

Rotha was preceded in death by his parents  Rotha Cornelius Carter and Betty Rose Carter. He is survived by his three sisters Janet Carter (Winston, Salem), Deborah Phillips (brother in law Charles Phillips) and Velma Carter (Camden, NJ) Three brothers Randell Young (Bethany,PA) Tracy Carter (Colorado) Terrence Carter(Baltimore, Maryland) deceased brother David Carter, ,two aunts Nettie Baker (Jacksonville) Venetto Hutchinson (Virginia) one uncle Charles Henry (Baltimore MD) hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended Jones and White families.
