Obituary of Albert Moody

Albert L. Moody affectionately known as “Al Poo”, was born July 20, 1953 in Wilson, North Carolina. He was the eldest son of the late Robert J. Moody and the late Evelyn (Alston) Moody. He was educated in the Camden school systems after relocating to Camden, NJ as a young child.  

Albert gave his life to Christ at an early age.

Albert was a dedicated employee and worked untiringly at whatever task was put before him. During the course of his adult life, he secured positions with various employers including Cooper Hospital and Sandy Mac, Corporation but, retired from Beef International, Incorporated in 2017 after over 20 years of service.

Albert was very neat and loved to dress. He loved listening to “oldies” and spending time with family but especially enjoyed hanging out with his only brother, “Donnell” as well as Wafeeq, Tang, Poncho, Bunky and the rest of the boys at “Magic Carpet ”. He was the “life of the party”!

Albert loved to eat! His mother’s banana pudding and Brenda’s shrimp salad were his favorites. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancée, Brenda McGriff of Camden, NJ,; four sons, Michael Starling of Pine Hill, NJ, Carey Johnson (Nikki), Leonard Cunningham and Raheem Cunningham all of Camden, NJ; one daughter, Chanel Johnson also of Camden, NJ; one brother Kerry D. Moody (Debra) of Pennsauken, NJ and four sisters, Veronica Moody-Smalls of Camden, NJ, Patricia Christmas (David) of Chesapeake, VA, Cleola Andrews (Andre) of Pennsauken, NJ and Brandye Frazier of Pensacola, FL; a favorite niece, Nicole “ Moochie” Moody and a special aunt, Bernice Holland both of Camden, NJ; special friends: Jessica Adams, Angelique Adams and Aisha Thomas and a  host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. One sister, Joan Moody preceded him in death.
