Jerry Rodger Fields was born in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Dorothy Mae Fields and Frank Winbush on March 2, 1959. At the age of 8 years old in 1969 Dorothy Mae Fields moved her family from Petersburg, Virginia to Camden, NJ where Jerry continued his education in the Camden NJ Public School System. Upon graduating high school, Jerry went to work as a laborer in various positions.

 

In the early 70’s Jerry and his first love Sylvia who precedes him in death gave birth to both of their first born and only child, Shawahn. Later in his life he met, fell in love and married Michelle whom came along with three more children whom he raised and loved as his own. He enjoyed weight lifting, being a provider, and being there for anyone in their time of need anyway he could.

 

He loved his family very much and was truly a protector to everyone he loved. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Mae Fields, brothers Junie, Bobbie, Jessie and Joseph one sister Patricia, survived by siblings Joyce Ann, Ronnie, Linda (Paul), Wanda (Ronald) and Nancy, four children Shawahn, Malik, Michael and Miesha and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
