Obituary of Gwendolyn Sanders Massey

Our Mother, Mrs Gwendolyn "Sanders" Massey left this earthly existence on the evening of October 21, 2015 and went to be with her heavenly father . Although we realize that she is at rest and feels of imperfection no more, we who are left behind mournher passing but praise her ascension as she was well acquainted with the Lord. "Mom" was born in Brooklyn New York at Kings County Hospital on October 24, 1948 to the late Carlton Sanders Sr of Bainbridge, Ga. and Mrs. Della Mae Booker of Orangeburg, SC. She graduated from Simon Gratz High School in Phila, Pa in 1967. She worked in various fields including health and human services until settling in at te Social Security Office in Camden, New Jersey until her retirement in 2001. "Gweny" as many lovingly called her loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. She opened her heart and her home to everyone. She was known to take care of everybody.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cornelius Massey, her brother Carlto Sanders Jr and her granddaughter Tashana Dixson.
She leaves to mourn her loss but cherish her memories her two sons Paul Sanders & Michael Massey three sisters Vicky Francis, Hilda Jeffcoat and Patricia two brothers Vincent Sanders, Richard Sanders a stepbrother Harold Johnson six grandchildren two great grandchildren longtime companion Desi Scott two adopted sons Art and Lamont goddaughter Alice best friends Dorothy and Debbie and a host of other family and friends.
