He had a loving lasting relationship with everyone he met. He loved spending his time with his family and grandkids, he enjoyed horse races, those “nags” as he called them and he enjoyed playing horseshoe, and he loved the Philadelphia Eagles, “Fly Eagles Fly”, and card games, especially Poker, and Pinochle. He was the life of the party and he entertained all with funny jokes and stories of the past. Early in life, Jim began gaining carpentry skills and painting. He was fixer, a jack-of-all-trades. He was a hard worker for his family. He worked for Blackshear Demolition, DePoalo Clothing Manufacturer, and he was once a dogcatcher. He was a machinist at Lyons and Sons from which he retired after working for many years. James Lee Thompson, Jimmy, will be in our hearts for evermore as a gentle and kind, hardworking, and vibrant man with a heart of gold. He will be missed.
