Obituary
Shawn E. Hall was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 1, 1965, to the parents of the late George Hall Jr. and Janice O Hall. He grew up in Camden, NJ, and later relocated to Voorhees, NJ where he resided until his untimely passing, March 10, 2021.
During his youth, Shawn attended Camden City schools and graduated from Camden High School in 1983. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard where he completed eight years of service.
Later in 2001, Shawn met the love of his life, Kimberly Mays; they later married on February 13, 2004. Shawn and Kim were always together with Shawn being the center of attention at every family gathering, dancing, singing, and always up for a good joke or two, Shawn liked to have fun especially with Kim at his side, as fate would have it, during Shawn's short illness Kim never left his side.
During Shawn's career, he worked several jobs but his role as Residential Supervisor at Gentle Harbor Group Home and overnight Security Supervisor at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, (Currently Virtua @ Lourdes) in Camden, NJ being two of his favorite positions. Shawn worked at Virtua at Lourdes from June 2016 until his passing.
While Shawn enjoyed the challenges of both positions, more importantly, he loved the people he came in contact with, always greeting them with a smile and a funny story to relay.
Shawn was a natural-born caregiver, being extremely overprotective of the women in his family, often coming to their defense even if assistance was unsolicited or needed. Shawn loved family!
Shawn was especially known for his infamous bar-b-que skills, no matter whose function he attended, he always seemed to end up on the grill.
Shawn's motto was "I will make it happen" he was always available to lend a hand to anyone that asked him for help. Not only did he help others he would invite and convince others to join him in this mission of caring and providing assistance.
Shawn was preceded in death by his father George Hall Jr. and his mother Janice O Hall. He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Kimberly Mays-Hall; children, Munir Davis, Joan Coleman, Shanda Bush, and Amirah Davis; Stepchildren, Tymeir Marshall, Tyra Marshall, and Tahira Mays-Perry; grandchildren: Rasool Jones-Coleman, Jay'Quan Coleman, Jai'Mir Goudelock, Miriah Dean, Taj'Miir Banks, A'Dore Davis, and Brielle Bounty; brothers Daryl Hall and George (Devette) Hall III; brothers-in-law, Fred Mays, Jeffrey Mays, and Abdul Samuel; Sisters-in-law, Detra Mays Johnson, Denise Mays, Denita Mays, Bridgette (Chris) Kelly, Tawand (Courtland) Smith III and a special sister/cousin Lynn C.
