Obituary of Mark Jordon

Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mark was born in Camden, NJ on July 16th, 1969 to parents William and Dorothy Jordon and was the youngest of four children. He spent the first few years of his life in Camden on Mt Ephraim Ave. When he was 3 years old, his parents moved the family to Cherry Hill where he attended Woodcrest Elementary, Heritage Junior High, and Cherry Hill East high school, graduating in 1988. Mark went on to study nursing and health sciences, graduating with an associates degree from Camden County College. During this time he worked as a nurse’s aide and home health care aide, and also commuted to a job at Bally’s casino in Atlantic City, NJ. He eventually landed at UPS in Philadelphia, where he worked for most of the remainder of his career. In 1989 he met his future wife, Beth (Oliver). They married and moved to Magnolia, NJ and, soon after, had their first child, Sean William, followed by a daughter, Esme Grace. Mark also has a daughter, Jada, from a previous relationship, whom he came to know more recently. After his divorce in 2013, he moved back to Cherry Hill, and then to Collingswood, NJ where he resided until his passing. Mark will be remembered as a person who always greeted everyone with a smile and a joke. He treated everyone with kindness and respect and people gravitated toward his positive energy. He truly cared for other people, defending those who couldn’t defend themselves, listening with genuine curiosity to his elderly patients as they revealed the stories of their lives. He was a loyal son, brother and friend who would do anything for those he loved. Being a father was the best thing that ever happened to Mark, and fathering was the thing he did best. He was a constant presence in Sean and Esme’s lives. He got such joy from watching them grow and was so proud of them every step of the way. Although he did not have the opportunity to be with Jada growing up, he greatly admired the young woman he came to know during the brief amount of time they had together. All of his children have a bit of the same spark, humor, and good natured spirit that Mark embodied. Mark passed away on May 19th, 2021 at age 51. He was a loving father to Sean W. Jordon, Esme G. Jordon, and Jada Edwards. Beloved brother to William Jordan (Charmaine) and Teresa Jordan-Johnson (Graylin). Cherished stepson to Arthur Baisden and loving uncle to Kelli, Ashley, Nick, Jeff, Brennan and Galen. Mark was predeceased by his parents William and Dorothy Jordon (nee Vestal), and brother Robert Jordon. ******************************************************* In remembrance of Mark, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to https://donate.cancer.org/ or https://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial
