Obituary of George VanNockay

George Herman VanNockay III 78, from Collingswood, NJ transitioned after a lengthy illness on Tuesday dec. 21st 2021. He fought valiantly through all the challenges he faced with his health and inspite of it all he remained positive, optimistic and always had a smile on his face and a joke to share
He was born in New Haven, Ct. on April 5, 1943 to the parents of George H. VanNockay II and Lucelia Dean Singletary. He was the second of two children to George and Lucelia.
George grew up in New Haven, Ct. and attended public school and High School where he lettered in football at Wilbur Cross High School. Upon Graduation he was employed as A Machinist and tradesman for Boeing Aircraft and taught boxing at the New Haven Barbell Club for many years. After which time he moved to College park, Ga. Where he started his own business, Vanway cleaning service.
George was a very spiritual man. He grew up in the Seventh Day Adventist faith and was a member in good and regular standing. He loved to sing and was a member of the Choir, served as a Deacon, Usher, Community Service Asst. among other positions whenever called, Always willing to share his wisdom and knowledge of Scripture and always willing to pray for whomever whenever he saw a need.
He was predeceased by both parents and a daughter, Jenavisa Dean VanNockay.
He leaves to cherish his memory Yvonne Roberts his life partner and caregiver whom he loved dearly and adored. Through it all she remained athis side from beginning to the end always encouraging him and praying for and with him. The way his eyes lit up when she entered the room let you know that she was the apple of his eye.
He also leaves to cherish his memory Sons Eric B VanNockay(Tammy) Orlando, Fl. George H VanNockay IV(Ruth) Atl., Ga. Jacobi Jones(Ashley) Fulton, MD.
Daughters Robin VanNockay Sykes(Drummond) Davenport, Fl., Lisa VanNockay Chesire, Ct. and a Sister Cherie Hamilton Minn. MN 15 grandchildren 10 great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family who loved him dearly.
