Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frank William Sutton, was the oldest child born to the union of William (D) and Lucia Galleri (D) Sutton. He entered the world in Hartford Connecticut on 08/28/1947. His sister Nancy predeceased him. The union of his mother Lucia Galleri Sutton and Richard McCluney and the Union of William Sutton and Erma Sutton produced siblings: Renata Gallieri, Joyce Sutton (Kenneth) Mark Sutton (Erika) Wanda Woodard (Theo). Frank was pre-deceased in death by siblings Gary "Beanie" McCluney, Laura Sutton and Stanley McCluney Flemming. Educated in Hartford until he was 10, Frank transferred into the Camden N.J. School system after coming to live with his Dad. Father and son were close until the Sr. Suttons demise. A natural born athlete Frank earned the nickname "Paco, " during his days of playing baseball for the South Camden N.J. Boy's Club, where he served as pitcher. Later he would play baseball, basket ball, football and run cross country for Camden High School. Out of the love shared between himself and Joyce Ann Love (D) came their beautiful baby girl Angela Love Simmons. Frank finished High School in Connecticut at Bloomfield High. Mr. Sutton began his college career at Yale University. After serving his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1965-1966 Frank transferred to Howard University where he earned a BA in business. Pacific Western University in California is where he earned his MBA. A highly intelligent man, Frank learned Italian from his mother who's home country was La Spezia Italy. He later went on to master several other languages. COVID 2020 decimated his planned trip to backpack across Europe. Paco's Professional accomplishments were quite impressive. 1977-1984 Commercial Loan Officer for Wells Fargo Bank, California. 1985 he was assistant Operations Manager for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee. President of the Philadelphia Commercial Development Corp, then Program Director for the Southeast Neighborhood Development Corp, in Washington Dc. This was Frank's last stop on the east coast before again distinguishing himself, this time in California. 1993 to present, Frank established F. Sutton Associates where in addition to developing and marketing Business Services he created an Entrepreneurial Training program designed to help advance African American Youth in Business. The program was so impressive to Rutgers University, Camden N.J. they purchased his previously published manual and incorporated his training into one of their courses in 2020. Frank' association memberships included but are not limited to: National Black MBA association, Vice President National Association of Market Developers and the list goes on. His second ritual was to purchase baked goodies at the Berlin Farmers Market for his Sr. girls, Gerri of Camden N.J. and his aunt Inez Hunter of Collingswood N.J. He spent hours each Saturday making them laugh. He was devoted to Angela's maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Dickerson helping to attend to her daily needs. One of his greatest fears was dying alone which is why he moved in with his beloved daughter Angela. It was she in the last minutes of his life who held his hand, bathed him and procured an ambulance. The last words spoken between Father and Daughter were; " I Love you," While all of these accomplishments are telling, what people will remember most about Frank was his loyalty as a friend. That quick beautiful smile and fast wit. A computer expert one of his last acts of kindness was rebuilding a computer for his cousin Sonny in New York City. A gifted athlete Mr. Sutton had a passion for pretty cars, all types of music especially Jazz and he loved to dance. On his return to South Jersey two years ago, Frank developed two rituals: He taught Sr. Women how to incorporate dance into their exercise routine at Gloucester County Park, where he worked out every day the weather allowed. Left to celebrate his life are: Siblings Renata Galleri, Joyce Sutton (Kenneth), Mark Sutton (Erika) Dwight Fleming, Wanda Woodard (Theo). Devoted Daughter Angela Love Simmons (Percy.) Grandchildren: Tatiana Simmons, Parish Simmons, Nicholas Love-Nixon (Elizabeth), Antonio Toplyn (Jasmine,) Alexander Toplyn (Megan.) Great Grandchildren: Londyn Simmons, Capri Catlett, Jayden Toplyn. A host of nieces, nephews family and friends who he loved very much. They will miss his laughter, computer skills wisdom and love. Sorrowfully submitted the Family.
